Joanne Hayward - Stylist/Owner
Joanne Hayward began her training as a hair stylist in England and was privileged to be trained under Paul Mitchell himself before he came to North America. Joanne moved to Canada in the 1960’s and brought her talent to several salons in London. In 1988 Joanne had an opportunity to open her own salon and has never looked back. In 1993 she moved to the Ridout Street location where she launched the first Aveda concept salon in London. Joanne has always been a strong believer in the Aveda philosophy of caring for the earth by using botanically based products in her salon; and this belief also led her to become London’s first environmentally friendly salon by partnering with Green Circle Salons. At the Village Salon Joanne has been proud to pave the way for many talented stylists and Aestheticians over her 23 years as a salon business owner. Joanne strives for excellence in her salon, and exceptional talent in her staff. Joanne continues to support, teach and encouraging her staff to reach their career goals. Now her goal is to take a step back and let a new generation of stylists take the floor and continue to build a full service superlative salon and spa atmosphere for everyone to experience and enjoy.
Joanne loves to spend her personal time painting, doing a wide variety of crafts, gardening, and spending time with family.
Natasha Daniloff - Esthetician/Make-up Artist/Aveda Educator
Natasha completed her esthetics and Make-up certification in Toronto in 1999. After moving to London Natasha began working at an Aveda concept Spa in 2000. In 2007 Natasha continued onto The Village Salon and completed her Skin Care and Make-up training for Aveda. Natasha is now manager of the salon, and is also working as a free-lance make-up artist for London’s 'FIVE Magazine' and 'Your Magazines Canada'. This spring of 2011 Natasha completed the Aveda Certified Educator Make-up program in Vancouver and the Aveda Certified Educator Skin Care program in Toronto in the summer 2011. She is very excited about bringing her expertise to Toronto's Aveda Academy as a certified Instructor. Her future goal is to continue to build on her free-lance make-up artist portfolio and business. In her spare time, Natasha enjoys reading, writing, gardening, cooking, nature hikes, bike riding, Yoga and activities with her two boys, her partner Robert, and her Dachshund Oscar.
Megan Slaats - Hair Stylist
Megan started apprenticing in Highschool in 2005, and finished her apprenticeship under Sami of Sami and Naji. Megan moved to London and attended Devog and graduated 2007. The same year Megan was awarded her Schwarzkopf Law of color diploma as well as Schwarzkopf color correction class. Megan continued on to complete Redken cutting, color, and curl theory classes between 2008 and 2009. Megan has enhanced her expertise with Marc Anthony (Toronto) and currently at the village salon. Megan continues to stay current with her education at the Aveda institute in Toronto. You can see Megan’s exceptional make-over skills in the pages of 'Your Style Magazine Canada'. Megan is happily engaged and planning a wedding. Megan enjoys her two dogs Bella & Missy. Her hobbies include cooking, and reading.
Dayna Robillard - Hair Stylist
Dayna originally started at the Village Salon as an apprentice in 2006. Once graduated with honors from the Fanshawe College Hair Stylist program in 2009, Dayna continued on to other salons to gain a wide variety of experience. Some of the classes Dayna has attended include: Big Sexy Hair Updo class, American Crew Men’s cutting, Schwarzkopf color tech classes, as well as a handful of Aveda technical classes. Dayna continued to heighten her skills over her years in the industry and gained an impressive clientele which she has brought back to The Village Salon.
Amongst assisting in the community with charity Cut-A-Thons, Dayna is working towards completing as many Aveda classes as required to apply for the Aveda Certified Educator program, so she can share her superlative knowledge and ability in hair artistry. Dayna is passionate about fashion and enjoys performing make-over’s for 'Your Style Magazine Canada'. Constantly upgrading her skills and abilities, she's sure to give you a look you'll love. Dayna loves to spend time with her family and dogs; she also enjoys going to the gym, camping, fishing and yoga.
Katie McGuire - Hair Stylist
Katie began her training as a cosmetologist at Pebec in 2004, and then went onto Devog where she graduated as a hair stylist in 2009. During her time as a stylist Katie has advanced her talent and knowledge by enrolling in Aveda classes and workshops. Katie always gives her clients 100% of her exceptional talent, and her easy going personality always makes all of her clients feel special and well taken care of. You will always leave Katie’s chair inspired by her knowledge and excited by her expertise with the latest trends in design and color techniques. Katie stays driven to stay current with her education at Aveda, as well as building her client business.
In her spare time Katie enjoys rollerblading, snowboarding, and spending time with friends.
Arica Hanley - Hair Stylist
Arica graduated Marvel in 2005 and began working as a hairstylist in St. Thomas as well as London. During her career she attended various classes for Wella, Affinage, Schwarzkopf and most recently Aveda. Arica has lent her talents to Fanshawe’s apparel design graduates for their annual fashion show. She keeps busy in the community by volunteering her work at a local women’s shelter. Arica has been creating with hair for as long as she can remember. When Arica attended hair school she soon came to realize that her affinity for hair was also an innate talent. Arica strives to be as creative as possible and loves to play with shapes, textures, colors, and lengths. Arica is always in high spirits and enthusiastic about meeting new people and always brings her most innovative ideas forward. She believes the most amazing feeling comes from helping someone feel good about themselves when they leave the salon. Arica lives a pure vegan, and environmentally conscious lifestyle. She loves animals and the planet, so working with Aveda was a perfect fit. Arica’s hobbies include makeup, nail polish, hanging out with her cute husband, four cats, and her Dachshund dog Roland.
